The Public Information and Press Relations Bureau within the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice is authorized to bring to public knowledge the following:
The Section of Criminal Investigation and Criminalistics within the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice is conducting investigations in the case built as a result of joining a number of six criminal case files dealing with complaints related to the manner in which people voted in diaspora, the issues the authorities were intimated upon being provided by the provisions of art. 297 of the Criminal Code (misuse of office), art. 298 of the Criminal Code (actionable negligence), art. 385 of the Criminal Code (impeding voting rights).
Prosecutors ordered, on 18 November 2014, that prosecution starts as to aforementioned offence, as the intimations aim at persons holding various positions or civil servants working for institutions with decision-making roles in organizing and handling the elections.
