The Public Information and Press Relations Bureau within the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice is authorized to bring to public knowledge the following:

Prosecutors of the Section for criminal pursuit and forensics within the

Prosecutor’s Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice have finalized  the investigations and have ordered the sending before court  of the defendant NOVAC CORNELIA – BRINDUSA, for committing  the offence of conflict of interests.

            The prosecutors have held in the  bill of indictment the following factual situation:

            During  2006 -2009, at different time intervals, the defendant Novac Cornelia – Brandusa (deputy in the legislature 2008 – 2012) in her quality as director / manager of the “GLOBUS” Circus and tertiary credit accountant, in the exercise of her duties, concluded juridical documents (11 contracts) with herself, as a natural person, and with a trade company at which she was holding the quality as unique associate, in this way realizing directly or indirectly, for herself  material  advantages in a total amount of 758.217 RON.

            The file has been sent for competent solution to the Court of Appeal Bucharest.

            We mention that this stage of the criminal process represents, according to the  Criminal Procedure Code, the  finalizing of the  criminal pursuit and the sending of the bill of indictment to the court, for judging, situation  which in no way can infringe the  principle of  presumption of innocence.
