PRESS RELEASE

The Public Information and Press Relations Bureau within the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice is authorized to bring to public knowledge the following:

Prosecutors from the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Maramureş Tribunal submitted a request for the pretrial arrest of the minor S.A.C. for rape.

On May 27, 2012, the magistrates from the Maramureş Tribunal granted the request and issued a warrant for the pretrial arrest of the defendant for 19 days.

The evidence produced so far in the case by the criminal investigation revealed that, on May 14, 2012, the minor defendant S.A.C. had sex by force with the injured party C.D.L. (a minor aged 12).

Investigations are carried out to reveal the entire criminal activity and the circumstances that led to the crime.
