PRESS RELEASE

The Public Information and Press Relations Bureau within the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice is authorized to bring to public knowledge the following:

Today, February 28, 2012, the prosecutors from the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Constanţa Tribunal submitted to the court a request for a 19-day pretrial arrest of the defendant A.G.C. (aged 17) for rape.

The evidence produced in the case so far have revealed the following facts:

On the afternoon of February 27, 2012, the defendant, together with another minor (aged 12), used violence in order to have abnormal sexual relations with the injured party D.V.L. (aged 13) in an abandoned building in the Constanţa Municipality. Because of the hits he had received (with hard objects, possibly a hose, tire), the injured party suffered traumatic lesions that required 11 – 12 days of medical care.

Investigations are carried out to clarify all the circumstances and establish the legal liability.
