The Public Information and Press Relations Bureau within the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice is authorized to bring to public knowledge the following:

At the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the  Trial Court Targu Jiu has been constituted, on 25.07.2012, a criminal cause in which are carried out investigations regarding a traffic accident occurred in the municipality of Targu – Jiu.

From the first investigations it resulted that on 24.07.2012, around 21¹⁰ hours, while he was  driving  a car on  a street  of the municipality Targu Jiu, the driver lost the control over the wheel, left the carriageway and entered on the sidewalk where he seriously injured a minor (aged 5 years), who was transported at the  County Hospital Craiova, as well as the named C.E., who has suffered minor injuries.

The driver has been tested with the alcohol test device, and it resulted an alcohol percentage of 0,49 mg/1 pure  alcohol in the exhaled air, reason for which he was  led to the Count y Hospital Targu Jiu for biological sampling of  blood, in order to establish the  alcoholemia.

The investigation continues in order to clarify all the circumstances of the case and  to establish the criminal  responsibility.
