The Public Information and Press Relations Bureau within the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice is authorized to bring to public knowledge the following:

On 19.07.2012, prosecutors within the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Mehedinți Tribunal have requested the law court for the preventive arrest of the defendant GAGIU MANOLICĂ (detained meanwhile), for perpetrating the offence of rape.

The magistrates within the Mehedinți Tribunal acceded to the prosecutors’ request and ordered that a preventive arrest warrant be issued on the defendant’s name for a period of 29 days.

          The evidence administered in the case, up to this stage of the criminal investigation, revealed the following facts: on 18.07.2012, around 1530 o’clock, the defendant Gagiu Manolică has taken the underage L.D.S. (age 9) by force off the street and took him to his accommodation placed in a village in Mehedinți county, where he immobilized him (tying his hands, legs, his eyes and mouth) and forced him into having intercourse.       

The investigations are undergoing in order to determine all the circumstances of the case and to establish the judicial responsibility.

On 19.07.2012, prosecutors within the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Brașov Family and Minors Tribunal have requested the law court for the preventive arrest of the underage defendant G.F. (age 17), detained meanwhile, for perpetrating the offence of rape.

The magistrates within the Brașov Family and Minors Tribunal acceded to the prosecutors’ request and ordered that a preventive arrest warrant be issued on the defendant’s name for a period of 19 days.

The evidence administered in the case, up to this stage of the criminal investigation, revealed the following facts: on the evening of 18.07.2012, around 1800 o’clock, into an annex building of his accommodation, the underage defendant G.F. has subjected the underage B.S.I. (age 5) to sexual aggression taking advantage of the fact that she was not able to express her consent, being caught by the victim’s mother and her fatherly grandfather.

The investigations are undergoing in order to determine all the circumstances of the case and to establish the judicial responsibility.
