The Public Information and Press Relations Bureau within the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice is authorized to bring to public knowledge the following:

The  prosecutors from the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Tribunal Galati have requested the apprehension, for  24 hours, of the  defendant VASILE GEORGE, for committing the offence of rape.

Also, they have requested before the trial court his pre – trial  arrest, request  which was admitted by the magistrates of the Tribunal Galati, who have ordered the issuing  of an pre-trial  arrest warrant on the name of the  defendant, for a period of 29 days.

From the evidence brought into the cause until this moment of the criminal pursuit, resulted that, many times, while they were at the domicile of their parents in the county of Galati, the defendant had  sexual intercourse with his stepsister, aged 6 years.

The investigation continues in order to clarify all factual circumstances and to establish the criminal  responsibility.
