The Public Information and Press Relations Bureau within the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice is authorized to bring to public knowledge the following:

Prosecutors of the Prosecutor’s Office attached to Sibiu Tribunal requested the court the preventive arrest of the defendant Bucurel Vasile for perpetrating the offence of attempt to rape.

The magistrates of Sibiu tribunal admitted the proposal of the prosecutors and ordered the preventive arrest of the defendant for a period of 29 days.

From the administered evidence in the case, up tot this moment of prosecution, it was revealed the following situation of facts:

On 25.12.2011, being under the influence of alcoholic beverages, the defendant Bucurel Vasile attempted to have intercourse with his niece (aged 14), through physical and moral constraining actions. At the same time after perpetrating the offence, the defendant tried to determine the injured part not to make a complaint of the deed, initially by offering money and subsequently by threatening with violent acts. 

The investigations are underway in order to determine all the circumstances of the case and to establish the judicial responsibility.
