PRESS RELEASE

The Public Information and Press Relations Bureau within the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice is authorized to bring to public knowledge the following:

Prosecutors from the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Horezu Local Court instituted criminal proceedings against the minor defendants V.Ş.C. and D.M.A. for robbery.

The prosecutors also submitted to the magistrates of the Horezu Local Court a request for the pretrial arrest of the defendants. The judges granted the prosecutors’ request and issued 19-day pretrial arrest warrants.

The evidence adduced so far by the criminal investigation has revealed the following:

On the evening of February 17, 2012 around 8:00 PM, the two minor defendants, taking advantage of the fact that the injured party P.M.E. was drunk and had a large amount of money on him, followed the victim around the town of Horezu and, when they thought no one could see them, submitted the victim to violence, stealing from him the amount of 600 lei.

Investigations are carried out to clarify all the circumstances of this event and establish the legal liability.
