PRESS RELEASE

The Public Information and Press Relations Bureau within the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice is authorized to bring to public knowledge the following:

Prosecutors within the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Ialomiţa Tribunal have ordered the 24 hours detention of the defendant CROITORU CORNELIU ALEXANDRU for committing the offenses of sexual corruption and attempted rape.

The defendant will be forwarded to the court of law with a proposal for a 29 days preventive arrest.

            The evidence administered in the case, up to this stage of the criminal investigation, revealed the following facts:

            On 20.05.2012, the defendant has encountered the minor Z.R.I. upon whom he carried out obscene character acts and on 14.10.2011 and 23.04.2012, by means of threat, he tried to have intercourse with the minors R.Ş.I and C.O.A. (both age of 7).       

The investigations are undergoing in order to determine all the circumstances of the case and to establish the judicial responsibility.
