The Public Information and Press Relations Bureau within the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice is authorized to bring to public knowledge the following:

On May 18, 2012, prosecutors from the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Vâlcea Tribunal launched a criminal prosecution against the defendant Viorel VLADU for rape and incest, requested his pretrial arrest.

The magistrates from the Vâlcea Tribunal granted the prosecutor’s request and, on May 18, 2012, issued a warrant for the pretrial arrest of the defendant for 29 days.

The evidence produced in the case so far has revealed that, between 2006 and 2012, the defendant had repeated sexual intercourse by force with the minor V.B.D. (his daughter aged 16).

Investigations are carried out to clarify all the circumstances of the case and establish the judicial liability.
