The Public Information and Press Relations Bureau within the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice is authorized to bring to public knowledge the following:

On 18.07.2012, prosecutors within the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Hunedoara Tribunal have carried on with the criminal action against the defendant OPRIŞ SILVIU CLAUDIU and requested at the same time the preventive arrest of the latter for perpetrating the offence of rape.

The magistrates within the Hunedoara Tribunal have granted the prosecutors’ request and ordered that on the defendant’s name a preventive arrest warrant be issued for a period of 29 days.

The evidence administered in the case, up to this stage of the criminal investigation, revealed the fact that, within the period of February-July 2012, the defendant Opriş Silviu Claudiu, taking advantage of the fact that the victim was not able to express her consent, repeatedly engaged into intercourse with the underage B.M.B (age 11).

 The investigations are undergoing in order to determine all the circumstances of the case and to establish the judicial responsibility.
