The Public Information and Press Relations Bureau within the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice is authorized to bring to public knowledge the following:

In reference to the information displayed in the media regarding the statements made by the Minister of National Defence concerning the fact that Laura Codruţa Kövesi, the General Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice was awarded a military degree or promoted in rank, the latter would like to bring to public knowledge the following:

“I am not aware of being awarded a military degree or promoted in rank. I have not submitted any application in order to be either awarded a military degree or a promotion. I have not delivered any documents or personal information to the Ministry of National Defence, which, in my opinion, I think would be indispensable in order to issue any document that would certify the awarding of the military degree or the promotion in rank.”

In this context, Ms. Laura Codruţa Kövesi has solicited the minister of national defence to order the legal measures so that this situation could be remedied and to notify the measures disposed.
