PRESS RELEASE

The Public Information and Press Relations Bureau within the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice is authorized to bring to public knowledge the following:

            On January 16, 2012, prosecutors from the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Suceava Tribunal submitted a request for the pretrial arrest of the defendant Sorin SOLOMON for rape.

The magistrates of the Suceava Tribunal granted the prosecutors’ request and issued a 29-day pretrial arrest warrant for the defendant.

The evidence produced by the criminal investigation so far in this case reveals that, on January 15, 2012, the defendant had sexual intercourse by force with a minor who had been placed in his care.

            Investigations are carried out to clarify all the aspects and establish the legal liability.
