PRESS RELEASE

The Public Information and Press Relations Bureau within the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice is authorized to bring to public knowledge the following:

A criminal case investigating the incident in which a minor (aged 1 year and 6 months) suffered serious lesions caused by burns was docketed at the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Lugoj Local Court.

The first investigations showed that, while in the temporary care of her paternal grandparents, the baby had suffered, approximately 2 weeks before, several lesions on the upper and lower limbs apparently caused by burning or scalding. The minor was hospitalized on August 12, 2012 for specialized medical care and is currently out of danger.

Investigations are carried out to clarify all the circumstances and establish the legal liability.
