The Public Information and Press Relations Bureau within the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice is authorized to bring to public knowledge the following:
Prosecutors of the Prosecutor’s Office attached to Timiºoara Local Court ordered, on 12 March 2012, the beginning of the criminal investigation towards the defendant ANDECA ALEXANDRU (being in detention) for committing the offences of bodily harm, and child maltreatment. At the same time, the prosecutors requested the court the defendant’s preventive arrest, request admitted by the magistrates of Timiºoara Local Court, that ordered the issuance of a preventive arrest warrant in the defendant’s name for 29 days.
From the evidences administered in the case up to this moment of the criminal investigation, the following facts were revealed:
In the night of 10-11.03.2012, the defendant hit his underaged son of only 6 weeks old with his palms over the face, punched him in the abdominal area and in the back, after which he pulled down by the right arm powerfully, causing the baby an open fracture of the shoulder. In this context the victim suffered bodily injuries that have seriously endangered the physical integrity and that will require 50 days of medical care.
The investigations are underway in order to determine all the circumstances of the case and to establish the judicial responsibility.
