PRESS RELEASE

The Public Information and Press Relations Bureau within the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice is authorized to bring to public knowledge the following:

Prosecutors from the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Roman Local Court instituted criminal proceedings against the defendant Florin-Radu IVANCEA and ordered his custodial arrest for theft, involuntary manslaughter, negligent bodily injury (2 acts), driving on public roads without driving license, and driving on public roads with a blood concentration exceeding the legal limit.

Prosecutors also submitted to the Roman a request for the pretrial arrest of the defendant. The court granted the request and issued a warrant for the arrest of the defendant for 29 days.

The evidence produced so far by the criminal investigation has shown that, on the afternoon of January 7, 2012, the defendant stole a car which he drove on public roads although he did not have a driving license and had a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit, causing a traffic accident that resulted in the death of the minor E.I.             Investigations are carried out to clarify all the aspects and establish the legal liability.
