PRESS RELEASE

The Public Information and Press Relations Bureau within the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice is authorized to bring to public knowledge the following:

Prosecutors from the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Tulcea Tribunal finished the investigation concerning the defendant Iulian DIACONU and closed the indictment launching the criminal prosecution against him for rape.

The investigation produced in this case so far has revealed the following:

On April 10, 2012, around 5:30 PM, the defendant, under the influence of alcohol, took the minor M.A.M. (aged 11) to an isolated place using false promises, violence and threats, and forced her to have sexual relations with him. The act was interrupted by two people from the same village who heard the injured party screaming for help.

The file falls under the jurisdiction of the Tulcea Tribunal.
