PRESS RELEASE

The Public Information and Press Relations Bureau within the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice is authorized to bring to public knowledge the following:

Prosecutors of the Prosecutor’s Office attached to Ialomiţa Tribunal requested on 10.04.2012 the preventive arrest of the defendant URSE ŞTEFAN (being in detention) for the aspect of perpetrating the offence of rape.

The magistrates of Ialomiţa Tribunal accepted the prosecutor’s request and ordered the issuance of a preventive arrest warrant in the defendant’s name for a period of 29 days.

From the administered case evidence, up to this moment of the criminal investigation, it ensued that on 08.04.2012, the defendant Urse Ştefan had intercourse with the victim U.G.I (aged 6), by coercion.

The investigations are underway in order to determine all the circumstances of the case and to establish the judicial responsibility.
