Having in view the information circulated in the media regarding the hearing of persons in a cause concerning offences to the Referendum Law,
The Public Information and Press Relations Bureau within the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice is authorized to bring to public knowledge the following:
At the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Trial court Constanta was registered, in the period 29 July – 09 August, a number of 16 criminal cases, having as object possible offences to the Law no. 3/2000 concerning the referendum, all these being dealt with at the police bodies, the investigations being carried out under the supervision of the prosecutors.
One of these files has as object a claim formulated by the County Organization Constanta of the Democrat – Liberal Party, against the named MAZARE RADU STEFAN, the mayor of the Municipality Constanta, for committing the offence foreseen in art. 52 of the Law 3/2000, cause in which preliminary acts are carried out.
Until now, the case prosecutor has not ordered and has not carried out hearings, several persons being, though, heard yesterday, 08.08.2012, at the seat of the Police of the |Municipality Constanta – Office for Criminal Investigation, which carries out investigations in the cause.
As the investigations in these causes are ongoing, we shall inform the public.
