PRESS RELEASE

The Public Information and Press Relations Bureau within the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice is authorized to bring to public knowledge the following:

On May 4, 2012, prosecutors from the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Alba Tribunal initiated the criminal proceedings, under pretrial arrest, of the minor defendants S.A. (aged 17) and S.L.C. (aged 14) and the major defendant Dorel Florian BARŞON, for very serious attempted murder, robbery, and break-in.

The evidence produced in this case during the criminal investigation revealed the following:

On the evening of April 6, 2012, the defendants broke into the residence of the injured party C.G. (aged 77) in order to steal various goods. They were caught in the act by the latter and reacted violently, heating the victim repeatedly with their fists and kicking him with the legs mainly on the head, causing him life-threatening lesions.

The minor defendants S.A. and S.L.C. and the major defendant Dorel Florian Barşon stole a mobile phone, a bank card, and 16 lei from the victim’s dwelling.

The case falls under the jurisdiction of the Alba Tribunal.
