The Public Information and Press Relations Bureau within the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice is authorized to bring to public knowledge the following:

The prosecutors of the Prosecutor’s Office attached to Neamţ Tribunal requested the court the preventive arrest of the juvenile F.R.C. (aged 17) for committing the offence of homicide.

The magistrates of Neamţ Tribunal agreed with the request of the prosecutors and ordered the issuance of a preventive arrest warrant in the defendant’s name for a period of 19 days.

From the evidences administered in the case, up to this moment of prosecution, it resulted the fact that, in the evening of 24 February 2012, around 24⁰⁰ hours, the defendant, due to alcohol consumption, annoyed with the refusal of the victim (aged 15) to have sexual intercourse, punched her in the facial area, compressed the neck with his hands, bringing her to an unconscious state, compressed the abdomen with his knees, and then abandoned her. The victim was found the second day, and although transported to the hospital, deceased in a short wile, as a consequence of the suffered injuries.

The investigations are underway in order to determine all the circumstances of the case and to establish the judicial responsibility.
