PRESS RELEASE

The Public Information and Press Relations Bureau within the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice is authorized to bring to public knowledge the following:

The  prosecutors from the Prosecutor’s Office attached to Tribunal Valcea ordered, on 30.08.2012, the initiating of the criminal action and the appraisal of the defendant CAPRARU FLORIN OVIDIU, for committing the  offence of rape.

Also, they have requested before the trial court the pretrial arrest of the defendant, request admitted by the magistrates of the Tribunal Valcea, who ordered on 31.08.2012 the issuing of an pretrial arrest warrant for 29 days, on the name of the defendant.

From the evidence brought into the cause until this moment of the criminal prosecution, resulted that on 26 August 2012 the defendant has had forced sexual intercourse  with the minor M.V.I ( the daughter of his concubine from a prior marriage, aged 12 years),  for whose  care and education he was responsible.

After the committing of the deed, the defendant Capraru Florin Ovidiu left the locality, being identified  2 days later,  on the territory of the locality Mateesti, Valcea county.

The investigation continues in order to clarify all factual circumstances and to establish the criminal  responsibility.
