The Public Information and Press Relations Bureau within the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice is authorized to bring to public knowledge the following:

Prosecutors within the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Arad Tribunal have requested the law court for the preventive arrest of the defendant ROCHNEAN IOAN, for perpetrating the offence of rape.

The magistrates within the Arad Tribunal acceded to the prosecutors’ request and ordered that a preventive arrest warrant be issued on the defendant’s name for a period of 29 days.

The evidence administered in the case, up to this stage of the criminal investigation, revealed the fact that, on the night of 18 to 19.06.2012, around 24 o’clock, the defendant Rochnean Ioan has engaged into having intercourse with the 10 year old victim N.N.R., by physical coercion and taking advantage of the fact that she was not able to express her consent because she was under the influence of alcoholic beverages.

The investigations are undergoing in order to determine all the circumstances of the case and to establish the judicial responsibility.
