The Public Information and Press Relations Bureau within the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice is authorized to bring to public knowledge the following:

Prosecutors of the Prosecutor’s Office attached to Maramureş Tribunal ordered, on 01.06.2012, the detention of the defendant MOLDOVAN VASILE for having perpetrated the offence of attempted murder.

At the same time, during today 01.06.2012, it is going to be presented to the court with a proposal of preventive arrest for a period of 29 days.

 The evidence administered in the case, up to this moment of prosecution, revealed the fact that, during the night of 15/16 May 2012, around 01⁰⁰ hours, the defendant, due to the consumption of alcohol and to a contradictory telephone conversation with his wife, he tried to suppress, by stabbing, the life of his son M.A.F. (aged 11) to which he applied several knife blows in the chest area, causing injuries that needed a number of 22-25 days of medical care for recovery and that endangered his life.

Investigations are underway in order to determine all the circumstances of the case and to establish the judicial responsibility.
