PRESS RELEASE

The Public Information and Press Relations Bureau within the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice is authorized to bring to public knowledge the following:

A criminal case investigating a traffic accident that occurred in the town of Otopeni, the Ilfov County, was docketed at the Buftea Local Court on September 27, 2011.

            The evidence produced so far in this case has shown that, on September 27, 2011, the driver of a moped lost control of the vehicle and drove head on into the gates of a house. The minor I.I.A.M. (aged 15) who was sitting on the back seat of the moped, suffered body injuries during the accident. After the accident, the driver of the moped left the scene without permission from the police authorities.

            The minor was transported to the Elias Emergency University Hospital in Bucharest where she was diagnosed with minor head injury, severe calf and left leg contusion and left leg lacerated injury.

             Investigations are carried out to clarify all the circumstances of the event and determine the legal liability.
