PRESS RELEASE

The Public Information and Press Relations Bureau within the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice is authorized to bring to public knowledge the following:

Prosecutors from the Prosecutor’s Office attached to Tulcea Tribunal have instituted the criminal proceedings and the prosecution of the defendant Petruţ DUŢĂ for bodily injury.

The evidence produced during the criminal investigation revealed the following:

On the afternoon of May 17, 2011, the defendant Petruţ Duţă beat his minor daughter (aged 13) with a fan belt because she had not cleaned her room. The lesions suffered by the minor took 25 to 30 days of medical care.

The case falls under the jurisdiction of the Tulcea Local Court.
