The Public Information and Press Relations Bureau within the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice is authorized to bring to public knowledge the following:

 

 

 

On November 11, 2011, prosecutors from the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Braşov Local Court submitted a request for the pretrial arrest of the defendant Francesco APA (Italian national) for sexual intercourse with a minor.

 The magistrates from the Braşov Local Court granted the prosecutors’ request and issued a warrant for the pretrial arrest of the defendant for 29 days.

The evidence produced in this case so far revealed that, in October 2010, the injured party G.A.A. (aged 16), met the defendant Francesco Apa through the H15 socialization network, the latter proposing sexual intercourse in exchange for money or goods. In January 2011, the defendant came to Romania and met with the injured party. He invited the latter to his apartment and proposed unnatural sexual relations. The minor agreed and received 150 lei. Between February and November 2011, the defendant had unnatural sexual relations with the minor – the injured party – offering the latter in exchange various sums of money or objects.

Investigations are carried out to clarify all the circumstances and establish the criminal liability.

 

 

 

On November 18, 2011, Prosecutors from the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Râmnicu Vâlcea Local Court ordered the institution of criminal proceedings against the defendants Alexe STOICA and Paul-Constantin TĂLMACIU and submitted a request for their pretrial arrest for robbery.

The magistrates from the Râmnicu Vâlcea Local Court granted the prosecutors’ request and ordered the pretrial arrest of the two defendants for 29 days.

The evidence produced in the case so far showed that, on November 5, 2011, the two defendants followed the minors D.F.C. and F.G.A. (both aged 14) in the town of Râmnicu Vâlcea and, when they thought nobody was watching, committed acts of violence against them, putting them in the impossibility of defending themselves. The defendants acted this way in order to steal a latest-generation mobile phone from the minor F.G.A. The damage caused amounts to approximately 2,100 lei.

Investigations are carried out to clarify all the circumstances of the case.
