The Public Information and Press Relations Bureau within the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice is authorized to bring to public knowledge the following:

On October 17, 2011, prosecutors from the Prosecutor’s Office attached to Gorj Tribunal submitted a request for the pretrial arrest of the defendant Dorel GÂLCĂ (in detention) for rape.

The magistrates of the Gorj Tribunal granted the prosecutors’ request and issued a warrant for the pretrial arrest of the defendant for 29 days.

The evidence produced by the criminal investigation up to now shows that, on October 16 2011, the defendant had a sexual intercourse by force with a minor aged 14.

Investigations are carried out to clarify all the actual circumstances of the case and establish the criminal liability.
