PRESS RELEASE

The Public Information and Press Relations Bureau within the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice is authorized to bring to public knowledge the following:

A criminal case investigating a traffic accident that resulted in the death of the minor A.A. (aged 3) and the serious injury of the minor A.G.M. (aged 12) has been docketed today, October 18, 2011, at the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Motru Local Court.

The preliminary investigation has revealed that, on October 16, 2011, while driving on the National Road 67 – Roşiuţa, from Motru towards Târgu Jiu, a driver lost control of his car because he had not adapted his speed to the traffic conditions and hit the two minors (who were outside the roadway). The driver was tested with the alcohol test detector and the result was negative.

Investigations are carried out to clarify all the actual circumstances and to establish the legal liability.
