PRESS RELEASE

 

The Public Information and Press Relations Bureau within the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice is authorized to bring to public knowledge the following:

 

 

 

On December 15, 2011, prosecutors from the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Suceava Tribunal submitted a request for the pretrial arrest of the defendant Petru-Leonard PERDEI (in custody) for illegal deprivation of liberty and rape.

The magistrates from the Suceava Tribunal granted the prosecutors’ request and issued a warrant for the pretrial arrest of the defendant for 29 days.

The evidence produced so far by the criminal investigation showed that, on the afternoon of December 13, 2011, around 4:00 PM, the defendant took the victim (a minor) to the basement of his house and forced her to have sexual intercourse with him.

Investigations are carried out to clarify all the actual circumstances and establish the legal liability.

 

 

 

On December 15, 2011, prosecutors from the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Târgu-Jiu Local Court submitted a request for the pretrial arrest of the defendant Gheorghe COCEA (in custody) for sexual intercourse with a minor.

The magistrates from the Târgu-Jiu Local Court granted the prosecutors’ request and issued a warrant for the pretrial arrest of the defendant for 29 days.

The evidence produced so far by the criminal investigation revealed that, between February and November 2011, the defendant Gheorghe Cocea had sexual intercourse with his concubine’s daughter (a minor aged 14).

Investigations are carried out to clarify all the circumstances and establish the legal liability.
