The Public Information and Press Relations Bureau within the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice is authorized to bring to public knowledge the following:

A criminal case investigating the attempted rape of a minor was docketed at the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Galaţi Tribunal.

Preliminary investigations revealed that, on the night of September 15, 2011, the defendant Petrică ALEXANDRU tried to have sexual intercourse with his minor son (aged 8), the offensive act being broken by the intervention of the defendant’s wife.

The prosecutors from the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Galaţi Tribunal are going to order that the defendant be detained and to prepare a report requesting the pretrial arrest of the defendant, noting the fact that the latter is currently hospitalized at the Emergency Hospital “Sf. Apostol Andrei” in Galaţi due to the blows received from the persons (neighbors) who intervened to save the minor.

Investigations are carried out to clarify all the actual circumstances and to determine the legal liability.
