PRESS RELEASE

The Public Information and Press Relations Bureau within the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice is authorized to bring to public knowledge the following:

A criminal file investigating the assault of a minor by one of his teachers was docketed at the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Târgu Jiu Local Court on October 11, 2011.

The preliminary investigation has revealed that, on October 10, 2011, a pupil (aged 11) of a school in Târgu Jiu was physically assaulted by a teacher because he was late for class.

The medical examination of the minor revealed no traumatic lesions.

Investigations are carried out to clarify all the circumstances of the case and establish the legal liability.
