PRESS RELEASE

 

The Public Information and Press Relations Bureau within the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice is authorized to bring to public knowledge the following:

 

 

 

On December 8, 2011, prosecutors from the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Bucharest Tribunal closed the indictment for the prosecution, in pretrial arrest, of the defendant Robert Gabriel PREDA for rape.

The evidence produced in the case during the criminal investigation showed that, on September 14, 2011, around 8:00 PM, the injured party, C.A., (aged 12) was heading home after having rollerbladed through a park in Bucharest, when she was accosted by the defendant who, using threat and violence, forced her to have unnatural sexual intercourse with him. 

The case falls under the jurisdiction of the Bucharest Tribunal.

 

 

 

 

Prosecutors from the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Maramureº Tribunal closed the indictment for the prosecution, in pretrial arrest, of the defendant Ciprian-Gabriel BERCHEª for rape and sexual corruption.

The evidence produced during the criminal investigation showed the following facts:

In 2011, the defendant Ciprian-Gabriel Bercheº repeatedly received oral sex from the injured party, his wife’s daughter (aged 3 years and 6 months), taking advantage of the latter’s incapacity to defend herself and express her will.

During the same period of time, the defendant repeatedly committed obscene acts on the minor by touching her with his fingers in the genital area.

The case falls under the jurisdiction of the Maramureº Tribunal.
