PRESS RELEASE

The Public Information and Press Relations Bureau within the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice is authorized to bring to public knowledge the following:

A criminal file investigating the case of N.V. for negligent bodily injury was docketed at the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Botoşani Local Court on September 9, 2011.

Preliminary investigations have revealed that, on September 9, 2011, on the national road DN 29 in the Botoşani County, a traffic accident resulting in the injury of six persons of whom three minors took place. The accident was due to the fact that N.V., who was driving a Ford, made a turn failing to grant the right-of-way. Because of this, the Ford collided with a VW Golf, projecting the latter onto the oncoming lane where it collided head on with a Land Rover. Of the six persons injured, two were seriously injured, the other four (of whom three minors) being only slightly injured.

Investigations are carried out to clarify all the aspects and determine the legal liability.
