PRESS RELEASE

The Public Information and Press Relations Bureau within the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice is authorized to bring to public knowledge the following:

A criminal file investigating the case of the B.M. (minor) and M.M.V. for illegal border crossing attempt was docketed at the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Arad Local Court on September 6, 2011.

Preliminary investigations have shown that, on September 4, 2011, around 09:30 p.m., M.M.V. accompanied by the minor B.M. were on the bus belonging to the company (…) driving from Romania to Italy. At the border-crossing check point, M.M.V. produced his personal identity card and a notarized document showing the written agreement expressed by B.M. and M.L. for the minor B.M. to travel to Italy together with M.M.V. Since there were doubts regarding its authenticity, the notarized document was verified. The verification revealed that the stamp security features were missing and the notary stamp was a copy, not the original.

Investigations are carried out to clarify all the case aspects.
