PRESS RELEASE
The Public Information and Press Relations Bureau within the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice is authorized to bring to public knowledge the following:
On November 6, 2011, prosecutors from the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Dolj Tribunal submitted a request for the pretrial arrest of the defendant Constantin Cristian NICOLAE for first degree murder.
The magistrates from the Dolj Tribunal granted the prosecutors’ request and ordered the pretrial arrest of the defendant for 29 days.
The evidence produced in the case so far by the criminal investigation reveals that, on the night between the 5th and the 6th of November, 2011, being under the influence of alcohol, the driver repeatedly hit his concubine B.A. and her child aged 3 with various blunt objects.
Because of the traumatic lesions suffered, the minor died during the night.
According to the on the scene finding act prepared by the Craiova Forensic Medicine Institute, the victim B.A.M. had a multitude of traumatic lesions produced by repeated hitting.
Also, the preliminary medico-legal finding act showed that the minor’s death had been violent and caused by the traumatic and hemorrhagic shock produced by serious multiple craniofacial traumatism with meningo-cerebral hemorrhage, associated with thoracicoabdominal and right renal trauma. The lesions had been produced by repeated hitting with and against hard objects. There is a causal connection between the traumatic lesions and the death which may have occurred on November 6, 2011.
Investigations are carried out to clarify all the circumstances and establish the legal liability.
A criminal case investigating the offence of sexual intercourse with a minor was docketed at the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Tulcea Local Court.
The evidence produced by the criminal investigation so far shows that, in 2011, the defendant had sexual relations with the minor N.M. aged 13. At the end of September 2011, the minor’s father saw that his daughter was pregnant and had her examined by a specialist medical doctor who found that, at the moment of the examination, she was 30 weeks pregnant.
Investigations are carried out to clarify all the circumstances of the case and establish the legal liability.
