PRESS RELEASE

The Public Information and Press Relations Bureau within the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice is authorized to bring to public knowledge the following:

A criminal file investigating the case of the minor S.A. for illegal border crossing and use of forgeries has been docketed at the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Arad Local Court.

The evidence produced so far has revealed that, on the evening of August 29, 2011, around 21:30 p.m., the minor S.A. showed up at the Turnu border-crossing point as passenger in a bus leaving Romania. When the border police officer requested his documents, he produced a notarized document from his mother alongside with his identity document. After verification, the notarized document proved to be forged.

The minor was not accompanied by any person trying to take him out of the country illegally, as has been circulated in the mass media.

Investigations are being carried out to clarify all the aspects of this case.
