The Public Information and Press Relations Bureau within the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice is authorized to bring to public knowledge the following:

Following up the  investigations in the cause  regarding the murder of the  student of Japanese nationality, the prosecutors  of the Section for criminal pursuit and forensics within the Prosecutor's Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice  entered today, 5.09.2012, at 12.30 hours  into the possession of the results of the genetic DNA tests.

So, in the cause  taken over by  order of the General Prosecutor of the Prosecutor's Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice, from the Prosecutor’s Office attached to Trial Court Sector 1 Bucharest, having as object the committing of the  offences of  rape and robbery against the female injured person, S.M. there has been identified the  DNA profile of the  defendant VLAD NICOLAE on the  piece of cloth belonging  to this  victim.

Also, the second DNA genetic test communicated has ascertained  that the genetic profile belonging to the defendant VLAD NICOLAE has been identified on the parka and on the left hand of the  victim “the Japanese student” Y.M.

Today  have been heard  two persons, relatives of the  victims  in this cases and in the coming days shall the hearings shall continue.
